Of all the confections throughout the land,
The most delicious made by woman or man
Is a peanut butter sandwich you can hold in your hand,
Topped off by a dollop of Strawberry Jam.
Made of pure cane sugar--hi-fructose won’t do--
Strawberry Jam is pretty good for you too,
Other jams are nice if you gotta make due,
But the berry in the straw is the most sweet and true.
There’s blackberry, raspberry, blueberry, cherry,
Even apple butter and concord grape jelly,
But my pick of the fridge will never ever vary,
The one and the only amazing strawberry.
You mash strawberries, put ’em in a pot,
With lemon juice and sugar make it boiling hot,
Fill Grandma’s jars and seal 'em up tight,
Then let ’em cool down overnight.
It’s red as a cherry but it has a little crunch
From the seeds of the berry, pleasant to munch,
Sweet as a kiss from your honeybunch,
There’s no better treat when is it time for lunch.
Of all the confections throughout the land,
The most delicious made by woman or man
Is a peanut butter sandwich you can hold in your hand,
Topped off with a dollop of—
Scrumdillyumptious,
I’m gonna munch this—
Fresh-made Strawberry Jam!
